{"id":5770,"date":"2018-01-25T11:57:11","date_gmt":"2018-01-25T11:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.wpzoom.com\/inspiro-video\/?post_type=portfolio_item&#038;p=5770"},"modified":"2026-09-02T07:51:33","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T07:51:33","slug":"a-window-on-gaza","status":"publish","type":"portfolio_item","link":"https:\/\/sacred-boxes.com\/en\/project\/a-window-on-gaza\/","title":{"rendered":"A window on Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Video Installation \u2013 7 min, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Part of the exhibition \u2018Gaza: Arab Gateway to the Sea, Memory and Art\u2019 in Amman, Jordan, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Dominican friars Jean-Michel Humbert and Jean-Baptiste de Tarragon entrusted me with fragments of raw video footage, shot by filmmaker friends who visited them during their archaeological work in Gaza. I searched within these images for what Gaza reveals of itself: the sea, small shops\u2014mostly closed as the camera passes\u2014then the sea again, the rooftops of the city\u2026 and little human presence.\nSo I began to give special attention to the people\u2014a passer-by, a driver\u2014lingering on them.\nWhere are they going? Who are they?
